After reviewing the really unbelievable talent out there doing custom sculptures, if was really hard not to choose Nimajneb, aka, Benjamin Barbecot, an ultra-talented and prolific custom sculptor. Ben was a total pleasure to work with and he gets my absolutely top recommendation if you are interested in getting a custom sculpture. If you would like to see more of his work, I recommend Googling the term "Nimajneb statue" and looking at the images. It's shocking the sheer quantity, let alone the quality of his output. Ben has an incredible ability to capture the idealized form of the super-hero genre. His work is smooth but detailed at the same time. His attention to the minute details of superhero costumes gives his statues an incredible authenticity. There was no question he was the perfect person to ask to make the sculpture of Doom 2099. To say I was not disappointed is an understatement of the first order! Ben has, once again, created another absolutely stunning, and completely unique masterpiece. Ben's web site is:

NIMAJNEB SCULPTURE

Follows are the various images Ben emailed me during and after the production of Doom 2099. As seen below, Ben had originally applied one of his outstanding custom paint jobs to the sculpture. But my obsession with the mirror idea led me to get the statue repainted.

These were the WIPS Ben emailed me but didn't post on statueforum.com.

Here's a cool one! This is Ben's first paint job on the base. But we decided against this and went with something that was reminiscent of when Doom and Wire were trapped in the Fantastic Four Sim program in Doom 2099 issue 6. (See the spread on pages 2-3 for you hardcore fans out there!)

The following are the images Ben posted to the statue forum and to other fan statue sites.
